Learn by doing

What students gain

At the Plastic Whale Foundation, our programmes invite children and young people to experience plastic pollution first-hand – and discover in a playful way that they can be part of the solution. Some programmes take place on the water, others on land. All are designed to turn curiosity into understanding, and action into lasting awareness.

Children remember what they do. By actively taking part – on the water or on land – students don’t just learn about plastic pollution, they experience the solution. This creates pride, ownership and motivation that lasts well beyond the activity itself.

Our Mission

Creating Lasting Change

From hands-on learning today to a plastic-free land and sea tomorrow. Our programmes are designed to do more than clean up plastic. They help children and young people understand their role, grow confidence, and carry that learning into everyday life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have Questions?

  • Yes. Safety is our top priority. All activities are supervised by trained Plastic Whale Foundation facilitators. Children wear gloves and use child-friendly equipment, and activities take place in carefully selected, safe locations. We never ask children to enter the water.

  • Plastic Fishing takes place on the water in boats. Plastic Hunting takes place on land, near schools or public spaces. Both focus on awareness, teamwork and positive action.

  • Please come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. We’ll provide all necessary materials.

    We recommend bringing:

    • Sunscreen and/or sunglasses
    • A water bottle
    • Weather-appropriate clothing (such as a hat or raincoat)

And most importantly: a sense of adventure — you might get a little wet or muddy along the way!
